Sketch 23

I always check out Heather's Oz-some sketches, and tonight I was able to come up with a fun, spring inspired card using her sketch of the week for inspiration. I love this little bird from The Angel Company's 'Spring Time' set which happens to be featured in their Spring Supplement. I also used an idea that I got from Heather's blog to attach the ribbon with criss cross staples. I think this adds a touch of rustic charm.

Materials Used:
Papers: DCWV Brights CS, White CS, Black CS
Inks: Palette Noir, VersaMagic Thatched Straw
Stamps: TAC's Spring Time
Accessories: Ribbon, Staples, H2O pencils (for beak), black gel pen, Pop Dots
Other: Edge Distresser, Sanding Blocks
As always, I appreciate the inspiration, Heather!

Back in Business

I do feel like I'm out of my slump now! Yesterday, I went to my Grandma and Grandpa's and the boys and I dug through Grandma's big 'ole can of buttons. It was so much fun; kind of like looking for buried treasure! I came home with a ziploc full of buttons and I've been having so much fun scheming about how I will use them.

Here is a picture of a magnetic coaster notepad that I made recently.
Papers: DCWV brights, Bazzill Pinecone, white CS
Stamps: Curls & Swirls, Spring Time
Inks: VersaMagic Turquiose Gem, Spanish Olive
Accessories: Thin brown grosgrain ribbon
On Friday, I received an epideral steroid injection in my back to alleviate pain that I have associated with 2 herniated disks. The shot has given me a little relief, and that has helped me get back to my crafting table as well!

Down on the Farm!

The weather was gorgeous here this weekend & we were outside to take advantage of it today! Here's a picture I took of the two boys doing their farmwork--checking our fine herd of 8 heifers. Dontcha love the boots? He tromps around in them 24/7 practically.

More with 'Spring Time'

Here are a couple of cards using images from TAC's new set 'Spring Time.' I love the little bird from this set!

Blog Candy!

Anybody interested in some blog candy? Up for grabs is a star Coluzzle template and a couple of stamps. I have been in a creative "slump" lately, so leave me a comment on what you do when this happens to you. (I'm not the only one this happens to, right)? I probably just need to buy some new stamps! LOL!

On Sunday, April 6th (sometime after 12 noon)--a name will be drawn at random from the comments left. Good luck!
