Mistakes that Work

I'm notorious for ruining a card at the last minute... Yeah, I get it looking just about right, and then decide it needs one more thing.  The only problem is, is that 'one more thing' goes on crooked, gets smeared, you get the picture!  I'm surely not the only one who has this curse, am I?  Take this card for example.  I decided at the last minute to add the 'friendship' sentiment.  Should have done this before I glued down the coral strip, eh?  So, I stamp it on and I get a line from the edge of my image--aaaarg!  So, I decided to ink a line from the edge of a set that I just cut & tossed into the trash.  (That's my line there in the background)!   I made little 'lines' all over the ivory background, and, voila--a mistake that works!  (I'm telling myself it looks like bamboo, 'kay?) Well, whether it does or not, I can live with it!

This card was inspired by Heather's Sketch.  Check out her blog for some amazing Angel Art!

Mistakes can produce some cool cards! I love the background - it really does make me think of bamboo! :)

This looks great, Nicole! Love the color combo and the lines give a great texture to the ivory... LOVE IT :)

And I, too, have those moments of messing up at the end, and I refuse to throw it out! After I figure out how to fix it, I refer to it as a whoopsie-turned-wonderful :)

I would have done the same thing (and it looks great by the way!) My hostess club ladies know my philosophy is "there's no such thing as mistakes! only opportunities to embellish!"

The first thing I noticed was gorgeous background paper that looked like one of my favorite tree barks from growing up. I am amazed that started as an oopsie!! Love it!!! I love when the mistakes can be turned into opportunites to invent something new. LOVE THIS!

You are definately NOT the only one with the curse girl! Half my stuff either ends up in the trash or flipped over and stamped on the other side - LOL! SO don't take any of my cards apart- there is no telling what is under there!
